7 Important Things To Consider Before Getting Back Together

Hearing their breakup Lines Fallout from your love’s mouth to you is terribly heartbreaking. it pierces the soul and shatters you. you feel like your world is crumbling before you and you can’t do anything about it.

You going through this process and trying to heal, probably you are asking yourself if it’s possible for both of you to come back after the breakup.

The truth is, it happens and it’s very possible but it’s not a walk in the park. The real question is what do you do when it happens? What would you do differently? Are you even ready to take him back?.

Getting back together should at least be the decision you have made. Getting back together comes with a lot of considerations that will be put in place. This is someone you have been in love with for a long period of time I believe, so you are going to be with this person again.

You have to make sure to tackle and talk about what caused the break up in the first place. So that you can prevent it from happening a second time.

One thing that you must have in mind is that it’s not going to be a continuation of the old relationship, but rather both of you are starting a fresh new relationship which will include setting new boundaries and so on. You don’t want to go through another heartbreak, would you?.

A relationship requires two persons coming together to make it work so let’s explore these helpful tips:

1.  Is The Feeling Mutual?

Make sure both of you come to the conclusion that you both want to make it work and not just one person. If it’s one person who is willing and wanting to come back then the relationship won’t work.

2.  Check The Reason You Got Back Together

Getting Back Together means you have thought about the past relationship you have weighed the pros and cons. Both of you have sat down to analyze the past relationship.

Weighing the options and talking about it. This is important because now both of you have identified one or two reasons why it didn’t work out before and you are now conscious of it.

3.  Point Out The Past Issues And Talk About Them

If you fail to list these issues you believe were the reason why it didn’t work out before, that means a repeat is about to happen. identify these issues. Now the both of you know what to do and what not to do In order to make this relationship work out.

This is not the time to play the blame game or regret, acknowledge where you were wrong, and apologize and your partner does the same. It’s like taking responsibility for whatever role he played in the Break-Up. You should be able to say this is how you are going to change, what you are going to do, and how to prove it.

4. Talk To Friends/Family About It

When the past relationship didn’t work out. They were the people you fell back to the consoled you, Counselled you, and advised you. You were not alone because of them. So it is fair you go back to them to know what they think; but remember you alone have the final say, you know what you want.

5.  Set Boundaries

This time you are wiser, you know what you want. you have grown and built yourself you have goals and standards you have set for yourself. These are part of your healing process which helped you in the healing journey. You wouldn’t want to throw all that away because you are now in a relationship again.

He has to accept the new rules in turn you also accept his. it’s now going to be like a commitment between you two.. Of course, both of you want this to work out this time.

6.  Take Your Time

It’s easy to get carried away when a second chance comes knocking on the door. But Beware! Don’t throw away all you learned from what happened before. This is now a new relationship, this is you dating your partner again, but this time you are starting all over not a continuation.

Be open with each other completely. Take it one step at a time so you won’t miss it this time. Maybe you did not take time to really know your partner before, this time you are going to take things slowly because now both of you are determined and open to make this work.

7.  Communication

Lily said when her ex-boyfriend came back and was determined to make things work she said one thing she had to tell him is that this time they are not going to hold back at each other. She believed that the major cause of their break up was as a result of not saying things as they were.

They swept a lot of issues under the carpet believing it can always work out. But it ended up backfiring back at them because they didn’t talk about stuff, they kept going on and the issues kept accumulating which of course filled up at some point in time, and they both exploded badly at each other.

This is why I’m telling you this time. If this relationship must work out this second time. Communication is key. Communicate properly. Say it when you are hurt, when something doesn’t sit right with you, let your partner know when he is hurting you rather than choosing to keep it all in and letting it all slide. Never hold it in, bare it all out.

Always have it in mind that this is a new relationship. So things should be done differently to create memories to replace the old ones. Good Luck!
